HVAC Technician

Job brief:

We are looking for a hard-working, dedicated HVAC Technician to join our growing staff. The individual in this role will be responsible for installing, inspecting, and repairing our customers’ heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Candidates should have extensive experience handling, installing, and repairing HVAC equipment, and be comfortable working with little to no supervision.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to homes and businesses daily as scheduled
  • Perform consultations with customers
  • Determine customer needs and discuss all solution methods
  • Install new heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
  • Inspect current HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to increase longevity
  • Conduct performance tests with specialized tools
  • Troubleshoot current HVAC system issues
  • Repair damaged HVAC systems
  • Sell ongoing maintenance contracts to current customers
  • Keep records of customer appointments and payment transactions including invoices
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years apprenticeship under a journeyperson preferred
  • Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants preferred
  • Certification or associate degree from an HVAC program at a technical school preferred
  • State HVAC technician license preferred
  • Previous on the job training a plus
  • Strong verbal communication skills, ability to explain complex HVAC issues with customers in a way they understand
  • Critical-thinker, problem-solver
  • Must hold state driver’s license
  • Must be punctual and adhere to a daily schedule with multiple appointments in different locations

Plumber Apprentice

Job brief:

We are looking for a Plumber Apprentice to efficiently undertake a variety of plumbing tasks ranging from fixing leakages to installing pipes and HVAC systems. A successful plumber must have a thorough knowledge of hydraulic systems. They are patient individuals with a practical mind and manual dexterity, able to work efficiently with great attention to detail. The goal is to install and maintain well-functioning systems that transport water, waste, gases or hot liquids.

Responsibilities:

  • Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal and water supply systems
  • Cut, assemble and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g. electrical wiring)
  • Install and maintain water supply systems
  • Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g. leaks)
  • Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc.
  • Repair domestic appliances (e.g. washing machines) and fixtures (e.g. sinks) etc.
  • Install and maintain gas and liquid heating systems (air-conditioning units, radiators etc.)
  • Install waste disposal and sanitary systems with well-functioning DWV systems

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a plumber
  • Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential, commercial and industrial buildings
  • Working knowledge of heating and ventilation systems as well as appliances
  • Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly with a great deal of patience
  • Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in awkward spaces
  • Diploma from a trade school or successful completion of apprenticeship
  • Valid license to practice profession
